My daily thoughts are shared with you so that the boys will no longer see me walking around the house talking to myself!

Boys

Well, I am going to try out this blogging thing. After all, I have benefited and grown as a mom thanks to some other wonderful blogs out there. As I thought and thought about what could I possibly write about, one topic kept creeping up in my mind - Boys! It is what I live and breathe, day in and day out!

God has made these wonderful little creatures. They know no fear. They are full of boundless energy and when the tank starts to drain, they conjure up this reserve turbo boost from somewhere deep within themselves. Most days I wish that I could tap just a fraction of this reserve in order to make it through the day. Their imaginations can take them anywhere, let them be anyone. They have a tough streak that lets them test you to all possible ends, yet a gentle side that comes out of the closet as soon as a sad look crosses your face. Ahh yes, boys!

Having grown up with two brothers, I shouldn't be too surprised by some things "boy". However, when you are the one responsible for ensuring that they grow up to be mature, upstanding members of society, there are times when you wonder "Is it me or is it them?" or "Is it them and should I be clamping down on this?". There are times when you wonder if you are losing the battle or sometimes even the entire war. In fact, my ultimate quest at the moment is to find an answer to the following question - How can EVERYTHING (happy play, fighting play, walking past each other in the hall, etc.) turn into a wrestling match in the blink of an eye! I'll let you know if I ever do!

Even still I love my boys! I continue to do my best every day to help them become responsible, self-disciplined, and most importantly faithful young men who strive to follow God's will in their lives. I also pray that God will continue to make up the slack for a mother who can at times be impatient, selfish, and oh so weary. I know God will continue to help us all grow in grace together, learning from each other and constantly pushing each other to be at their best for His glory.

Boys make life more exciting. They make life more fun. Most importantly, boys always keep us moms on our toes!
